Today, a Granthi [(ग्रन्थि) knot] has been dissolved. And so beautifully… When Guru resolves it all, everything falls into place effortlessly.
Now, you are so engrossed in the recognition practices that you become it, and that flows smoothly. No doubt about it at all. But! What about the times when you are in the zone of doing day-to-day tasks, while being a son to someone, being a wife to someone, being a caretaker of a house or at workplace? What happens to your recognition then? Does it fall back? Do you constantly pull back into witness state? If you pull back into witness state, who is playing the role or enacting on the stage of the world then? Do you constantly conflict then? This topic was a peak one at my end for the last few months, and guess what? This is one of the conflicts while walking on Advait/Trika (any nondual path).

Interesting to think that the answer is extremely easy. And hence not easily occurring.
When an actor is acting as a homeless man on the stage, does he constantly remind himself that he is ‘an actor’ who is playing the role of a ‘homeless man’? No, he fully thinks himself to be the homeless man. There is no actor on the stage; it is the homeless man. Is the actor scared that while pretending or acting for the role, he will turn into a homeless man? No! That’s not how it works.
You are it. I am it. Recognition remains available. Knowledge remains available. Just because you do day-to-day work or sansaar, none of it becomes a lie. None of your sadhana vanishes. The state of nonduality exists within you. Whether it is visible in your actions or not, even if you look like a householder or not, none of it changes the fact that it is available to you the moment you seek it. Your worldly functions don’t hinder it.
Shiva superimposes acting to get going in this world; it’s held together by that effort. So, when He is an actor, that is the knowledge. He doesn’t have to put any effort into remembering that; it’s always available.
I heard in a lecture that, one fine day, a student asked Sharda Ma, “Ma, do you always remember your real nature?” And she said, “No, my child. How can I carry out the day-to-day activities if I do so? But it is always available to me. Whenever I want it immediately.”
So, if I had to conclude this entire conversation. Non-duality that you converse with exists by your side because you are it. There is no difference or argument over that aspect. But if you are the person who is taking part in sansaaric duties, and by that I mean everything except for tapas and sadhvi jeevan, where your entire point is to attain Pratyabhijna… yeah, do not dive into witnessing actor. You are it, you will fulfill your duties, and you will live your knowledge whenever you want to, but while acting, act it out entirely because Sansaar bhi tum hi mitra… Sab tum ho. So, Shiva, live what you want to live, and then go back to your tatva whenever you want to…
Yours,
Brahmamayee
